Why a scanner puts pages in the wrong order

Sheet-fed scanners with a duplex unit frequently produce all the odd pages followed by all the even ones in reverse, because that is the order the sheets physically pass the sensor. Rearranging afterwards is easier than re-scanning.

Removing a page is not redacting it

Deleting a page removes it from the document entirely, so its content is gone. That is different from drawing a black box over text, which leaves the text underneath and is recoverable — a mistake that has embarrassed several large organisations.

Can I combine pages from two documents?

Yes. Add both files and every page from both appears in one list, so you can interleave them freely before saving.

Will this reduce the quality of my PDF?

No. Pages are copied structurally, not re-rendered — text stays selectable, vectors stay sharp and images are untouched. The output is the same content in a different arrangement.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The whole document is processed in your browser by your own processor. This matters more for PDFs than for anything else — contracts, bank statements, medical letters and scanned passports are exactly the documents that should never be handed to a stranger’s server to be reshuffled.

You can confirm it: open the Network tab before you start, or disconnect from the internet entirely. It still works.
